Mizuno Wave Prophecy

Mizuno’s most advanced running shoe with an extended infinity wave plate. A prophecy can be described as a process of a message being communicated to others; such messages typically involve divine inspiration or revelation of events to come.

When Mizuno first introduced the groundbreaking Wave technology, it was with the prophecy that someday in the future a mechanical midsole would give runners the ride of their dreams. It's safe to say the future has been made with the arrival of the most highly engineered technical running shoe to date - the Mizuno prophecy has been fulfilled.

Mizuno Prophecy

With the ultimate combination of cushioning and durability, the Wave Prophecy is truly an exciting running shoe for runners everywhere.

The presence of Mizuno’s Wave® technology within The Mizuno Prophecy provides excellent cushioning by dispersing the force of impact across a large surface area. The stability aspect of Wave® technology is achieved by the differential construction of its lateral (outer) and medial (inner) areas which resist the compression of midsole areas where support is needed.

The Mizuno Wave Prophecy is also endorsed with the American Podiatric Medical Association Seal of Acceptance, so runners can be assured of comfort and sheltered protection for their feet and joints.

Mizuno’s lifelong commitment to research and development in the field of performance footwear has been marked by the presence of a wide array of technologies within its shoes. The Mizuno Wave Prophecy features the following:

Infinity Wave Plate

The shoe features two Wave plates stacked together and molded at different densities to facilitate landing on either the forefoot or the midfoot. You get this really cool, dynamic feeling in your foot, because the Wave is doing all the work for you at different points along the way.

Dynamotion Fit

Combination of shoe technologies that create an upper that moves with your foot seamlessly throughout your stride, eliminating stress points and bunching for a more comfortable run.

SmoothRide Flex

This minimizes energy loss by optimizing flexibility in the forefoot. The Prophecy’s forefoot flexes to a point, but stops around a 15-degree angle and then becomes somewhat rigid, so runners don’t lose any energy when toeing off.

Outsole

Constructed of solid rubber, the outsole is built to be durable, but it’s thin enough to not be particularly heavy. The pattern is such that lots of little independent studs provide traction and also allow each of those individual studs to move and displace, which creates a cushioning sensation.

Gender Engineering

The Wave Prophecy will be available in separate models to suit male and female foot types. Since in general women have higher Q-Angles [the alignment of the pelvis, leg and foot] than men, their feet typically hit the ground at a greater angle, causing overpronation. Men typically run in a more neutral line.

The Wave Prophecy is primarily suited for runners who have few concerns about stability. But overall, the shoe provides natural stability and some protection against overpronation.
